Duration: 9 month FTC  
Location: Hybrid  
Start Date: August 2024 (expected)

We are an established business, and are looking for an experienced Commercial and Business Development Executive to provide maternity cover. Whilst this position is originally for a 9 month FTC, there is a great opportunity for this to become a permanent position for the right candidate. 
 
 We’ve delivered a range of innovative training, research and designs for a suite of prestigious clients.  We've worked with the Third Sector, Financial Services, Public Sector, Heritage, Hospitality, Training.... you name it, we've probably done it.  So, no 2 days are the same, and team spirit, integrity and adaptability ooze out of us. 
This is a fast-paced environment, and essentially will be operating like a start-up. 

Working in a small team, we offer flexible working arrangements, with our office in the city centre office just a 2-minute walk from Glasgow Central train station.  
Beyond the work stuff, we are very family friendly. Our MD launched the business with an 11-month old, and launched a groundbreaking tech platform just 2-weeks after having her second child, so balancing work and family is just what we do.

What the job looks like: 
Due to recent successes and maternity leave, we are excited to be looking for a new Commercial and Business Development Executive to join our team. This position is crucial for driving our sales processes to ensure commercial growth and achieving sales targets across all business areas. The role will focus on delivering our commercial strategy and championing the market success of our innovative learning platform, Neve Learning. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Commercial Strategy Delivery: Lead the execution of commercial strategies in partnership with leadership and stakeholders, working closely with our marketing and communications team. Support the commercial vision for the business, aligning with company objectives and market trends. 

• Sales Function Management: Manage the entire sales function, emphasising client prospecting, onboarding, relationship nurturing, and ensuring a consultative approach throughout sales, account management, project management, and client product delivery. 

• CRM System Management: Take full ownership of the CRM system (HubSpot), ensuring effective sales pipeline management, reporting, and staff training to drive commercial growth and operational cohesion. 

• Key Stakeholder for Neve Learning: Act as the key stakeholder for Neve Learning between existing and potential clients and the technical and design teams to guide the product roadmap based on detailed customer feedback and market insights. 

• Contract and Tender Management: Oversee contract creation, negotiations, and tender/bid writing processes, ensuring alignment with client requirements, company capabilities, and values. 

The person we are looking for has: 

• Proven experience in a business development roles
• Strong ability to manage and execute sales processes 
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills 
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and design teams 
• ​Visionary thinker with strong commercial acumen  

Nice to haves:  

• Proficient in using CRM systems, preferably HubSpot 
• Previous experience in selling SaaS products and/or training solutions 
• Experience in international sales  
• ​Managing commercial partnerships
