With just over a week until our second Milk Bar event on Friday 5 August, we'd like to introduce you to the speakers we've got lined up to talk and host workshops on the topic of Horizon Watching.
Ahead of the Milk Bar we asked Paul a few questions:
1. What brings you to the Milk Bar?
Aside from my desire to support Angela & the team in their drive to spread new edge thinking, I like the concept and also hope to learn something myself!
2. You will be talking about some of the major future trends that might impact organisations in the future. Can you tell us a bit about why you chose this topic for the Milk Bar?
I’ve been passionate about future thinking for many years now, admittedly often as a lone voice, as I’ve always seen it as a major flaw that most organisations fail to address but with pace of change so accelerated and radical disruptions coming left, right and centre, perhaps I was on the right track after all!
3. Why do you think it is important for organisations to prepare for the future?
Because if they don’t they will die…
4. What do you think the most important trend is going to be for your business in the next 5 years?
This will be different for each organisation but in general terms marketing is undergoing the greatest revolution and reinvention in its history. Disruptions, caused by dramatic, seismic and subtle macro and micro change drivers, are forcing everyone to lift their heads to look to the future. If I could pick one I might point to how we still fundamentally underestimate the dawning of the age of robotics and Artificial Intelligence in all that we do.
Meet Paul at the Milk Bar on Friday, 5th August 2016, 17:30-19:30 at Snook Interchange Glasgow , 84 Miller Street, Glasgow.
Keep an eye out for our next Milk Bar and other events!
